The gulf airline is the flag carrier of the kingdom of Bahrain and is the state-owned airline located in Muhrraq, Bahrain. The Hub of this airline is Bahrain International Airport. The headquarters of the airline is located in Muharraq, Kingdom of Bahrain. It runs its scheduled flights to almost 55 destinations located in 28 countries.

The frequent flyer program of this airline is Falcon flyer. The parent company of this airline is Gulf Air Holding B.S.C. The CEO of this airline is Waleed Allawi. The chairman of this airline is Zayed Rashid Al Zayani. The fleet size of this airline is 34.

Moving towards its history, it was established in 1950 as Gulf aviation. Then between the eras of 1949-1973, it worked as an operating company. In 1970 it got multinational ownership. Later on, between 1980-1982, it got expanded to more countries. In the eras of 1993-2005, it got the new livery and destinations.

Then, between 2006-2009, it got full ownership by the kingdom of Bahrain. In 2010, the process of restructuring occurred. In the end, the airline suspended its flights to Pakistan after closing its airspace temporarily because of the tension created with India. In 2020, it retired it got retired.
